PicAHome app identifies properties by sight

Property Soup featured PicAHome on 1 October 2026 in its article, “PicAHome app identifies properties by sight”. The coverage looks at how the free app helps house hunters identify a home and research its sold-price history without first knowing its address.

The article covers postcode searches, watching individual roads and notifications for new listings, price reductions and properties going under offer. It also includes comments from Emma Frewin, co-founder of PicAHome, about starting with a property you have spotted while exploring an area.

Starting with the property in front of you

“You can obviously find a lot of this information online already, but you normally need to know what you’re searching for first. We wanted to make it much quicker. If the house is in front of you, you can point your phone at it and start from there.”

Emma Frewin, co-founder of PicAHome, quoted in Property Soup

PicAHome’s camera lookup works when you are standing outside the property and take a picture there and then. It uses your location to help identify the home, so a picture taken previously cannot be used. If you are researching from elsewhere, use the postcode lookup instead. Available information includes previous sold prices, property details and current listings nearby, where available. PicAHome currently covers England and Wales.

Alongside the property portals

The feature explains that PicAHome is not trying to replace Rightmove or Zoopla. It offers another starting point for people walking around an area, noticing a For Sale board or wondering about a particular home.
